Arriving early the TBreds got to the nets and warmed up properly .....well we did a bit.
Valley won the toss and asked Epsom to bat first
Patrick and Ian returned to familiar standards racing to 65 in 4 overs losing only Ian to a stumping.
Fashioning an all black ULTRA style tracksuit Paul Nye set about the Valley bowling like a Selhurst Park thug. Greg in support dovetailed with some proper cricket shots.
Jerry and Mahendra joined the party with Epsom on 97 and were met with devilish slow bowling which they eventually got to grip with putting on 41, Mahendra even managed to keep his hat on and shirt tucked in !
It was really a bit of a cantor for the veteran greyhounds Dave and John who poodled to 43 finishing Epsom on 176
Greg opened the bowling and was attacked by a straight hitter in good nick. Patrick dragged us back into it with a maiden over . After 4 overs Valley were 19 for 1. Controlled bowling from Jerry and Mahendra tightened Epsom's grip on the game .
Dave Lazell then enjoyed a dream over with 2 wickets and a run out leaving plenty of space for John to bowl some pies to the last pair who were keen to slog and did.
No catches dropped, impressive keeping by Paul Nye left TBreds with a convincing victory
Special thanks to Tim and Alan for bowling in the nets, Barret for his sound umpiring, Roger and Debbie for cheering and groaning, Dave Porter for scoring and John Legg for tea and cakes.
Inbetween a Croquet match, Bridge club and Bob and his Builders we managed to put on a really enjoyable game.
