Report by Roger Hill.

We today welcomed Reigate Priory Cricket Club who only started playing Walking Cricket this year. Thus, we were unsure as to the standard but it turned out to be a close and entertaining game. We played 40 overs with 10 a side. Reigate arrived with no umpire and no scorer
We won the toss and decided to bat. We opened with Jeremy (nice to see him back) and minus 5 Colin who gave us a start.
Good batting by our own Chris Woakes, John Sands, set us on our way with help from Paul, David, Debbie and Geoff. David Wheeldon (also nice to see him back) struck a few lusty blows and then it was the turn of Clive and Roger. Clive batted sensibly but Roger faced an over which was a maiden, very rare in this cricket. It was considered that the excellent bowling was wasted on Roger!!! Our score of 149 for 7 was probably around par.
Reigate’s innings started off very well but with good bowling from everybody particularly Clive and Richard their challenge gradually petered out leaving them too much to do and they reached 139 for 6. The highlight was Jeremy’s catch at fine leg and Clive’s 2 wickets in 2 balls very narrowly missing a hat trick.
Basically, an even and enjoyable game. In summary Reigate had an excellent bowling attack but lacked consistency in batting. As far As Epsom was concerned everyone played well but we suffered 7 dismissals which included 2 silly run outs.
